Where do I even begin? It’s been almost three months since I’ve blogged, so I’ll do a quick run-through of these past few months.
Back in September, I had just gotten back from the Camino, where I had had 10 days to myself, walking 272km across Castilla y León and Galicia. In October, I started a new job teaching intensive English courses with an international university in Spain. It was the job I had been keeping my fingers crossed for, and it brought me to La Línea (which lies next to the British territory of Gibraltar) for a few weeks before bringing me back to my beloved Granada.
Gibraltar
Back in Granada!
And finally, in November, D-Man got all of his paperwork going after completing a series of interviews to work in the UK, and announced that we would hit the road in December.
And that’s just what we did.
It wasn’t the easiest of choices, but it was an opportunity, for the both us. And an adventure that began in D-Man’s small Spanish town – the three of us squashed in the car amongst suitcases, gallons of deep green olive oil, and Spanish sausages.
On the road
24-hour ferry boat ride (from hell)
Oxford
Bye-bye Liverpool! (hello again, choppy sea waters)
Belfast!
All in all, the trip took 3 days and we settled in comfortably enough to enjoy the New Year at the Duke of York in Belfast’s city center (centre?), drinking beer and holding hands with strangers while singing God Save the Queen.
My horoscope says 2013 is going to be a good year. :)

Whoa, so much has happened since you last hit the publish button! I’m looking forward to living vicariously through your Irish adventures.
Thank you! I can hardly believe it myself. Irish adventures to come indeed!
Whaaaa! That’s awesome. I was actually considering a trip to Belfast this spring, funny enough, I’ll look you up if the trip happens!!
Definitely! Keep me updated. :)
wow!!! so from now on you live in UK? im still live in Berlin now. welcome to drop by!
Thank you! Likewise!
It’s wonderful to have you back! Sorry to hear about what happened with your last blog. And since we’re both Aries, here’s hoping its a good year for me too eh? It’s been not-so-great so far, but I’m hopeful ;)
Wishing you & D-Man all the best for 2013! ;)
Thank you, Azra! Yes, let’s see if 2013 is indeed a good year for us. A happy new year to you! :)
So glad you’re back! We missed you! I also found and liked your Facebook fanpage :)
Woohoo! :) Glad you stopped by.
YOU’RE BACK! WOo hoo!
Nice short and sweet recap.
I definitely have missed the way you string words together!
Can’t wait for more, my dear friend!
I’m glad to be back, Lauren! Thank you for encouraging me to come back. :)
You are back! I was so sorry to see your blog get hacked but I’m glad to hear you guys are settling in in. Can’t wait to read about your adventures in Belfast!
Can’t wait to write more. :)
Welcome back to the blogging world and I wish you luck with your new adventure. :-)
Thank you! :)
I bet you walking the Camino brought that good ju-ju your way. Good luck to your both!!!
I hope so! I’d love to do it again in a few years, via another route. There’s the Portuguese Way (which begins in Portugal) and the Primitive Way, which starts at the northern tip of Spain. My first pick would be the Primitive Way. It looks like I’ll be returning time and time again!
Good luck on your new adventure! Can’t wait to see you posting again!
Thank you! :)
Nice to see you back to blogging. I look forward to seeing what you will be up to in Belfast. :)
Thank you. And I still have a pending post to publish that I believe you tagged me in some months ago! The photography-colors one.
finally you’re back. missed you! hope you write more about the camino, Id really like to hear about it. also, did dman get something in his field? Belfast and northern Ireland are so full of history, I will be super interested in your impressions of life there. some of my fav authors are irish and british. happy beginnings!.
Hello! Thank you for your well wishes! I do plan on writing more about the Camino and my summer travels through Asturias, Cantabria, and Castile. There’s just so much that’s happened in the last months!
Yes, David got a job in his field, though not in his alternative therapy field, but there seems to be more opportunity here for it, so hopefully things will continue to go uphill from here on out.
So far my impressions of Northern Ireland have been just observatory, but I do intend on reading even more about the history. We arrived smack in the middle of the Loyalist protests, so there has definitely been some chaos in the area we were previously living in.
I love to live vicariously through your adventures abroad. Sounds like so much fun! I can’t wait to hear more about the new “home”.
Thank you! I also have loads of catching up to do on your blog! Your wedding photographs are BEAUUTIFUL! Congratulations love!
Gorgeous photos, but a 24 hour ferry ride? I can’t even imagine! Just stumbled on your blog from The Nomad Grad. I’m a fan. : )
Welcome, and thank you for stopping by. :) Yes, the 24-hour ferry ride was horrendous. There was literally flying furniture and silverware due to the huge waves we had to make our way through. But we thankfully arrived in one piece!
Good to see you back! It looks like you had some amazing times. Here’s hoping your horoscope is right this year :)
Thanks, Jessica! I’m really hoping for that lucky horoscope to come true ;)
You’re right. You did post. Ignore me. I LOVED THIS POST THOUGH! :-D
Hahaha, love YOU! :)
Wow – what an adventure! At least you’re still not far from good tortilla and jamón!
Once my residency is all set, a trip to Spain to eat good food and see old friends is a must!
